Below are some of the most common services I offer. Not every service is listed. Prices are not shown because the actual cost depends on how much work is actually needed. For example, a full setup could require 5 or more specific adjustments, plus new strings, but your guitar might only need one or two adjustments. As a result, the price for a setup could range from $30 to $90, depending on what is really needed. Call, text or email with the issues you are experiencing and I can provide a more accurate estimate for you!

Setups
I am very particular about setups, having had a horribly set up guitar when I was a kid. Unplayable, actually! I will review with you your playing style, setting it up to meet your needs, while being as easy to play as possible. A full setup might include​​
restring if needed (strings extra), truss rod adjustment, saddle adjustment, nut slot adjustment, intonation, body and fingerboard cleaning, hardware tightening.

Mandolins/Banjos/Ukuleles

Nuts and Saddles
Nuts and saddles can be made from blanks by hand, usually out of bone, but to reduce cost I can use factory made nuts and saddles upon request.

Fretwork
Often when we have an instrument that buzzes, a fret has worked loose and simply needs to be re-set. Other times the instrument may need new frets, or to be leveled and re-crowned and polished. I can evaluate whether your frets can be leveled and crowned, or if they need to be replaced. From there, I can discuss different fretwire options to determine what suits your needs best.

Fret Level
Cost varies depending if all frets need to be corrected, or just a few of them (often just the first 3-7 frets need dressing) Frets are leveled, re-crowned, and polished. This service also includes a full setup.

Refret
A refret starts with removing the old frets, dressing the fretboard as needed, then install new frets, dress the ends, and then level, re-crown and polish the new frets. This last step may seem surprising, but even newly installed frets need to be leveled out so they all have the same exact height. This service also includes a full setup. Lacquered and/or bound fretboards require added steps and therefore a greater cost.

Structural Work and Other Repairs
I can provide a wide variety of custom services or structural repairs, with common repairs being loose bridges, broken headstocks, cracked tops and sides, and neck resets. Feel free to call me for an estimate!
